Garrison’s studio is a treasure trove of objects that he uses in his designs. Wooden pagan gods from the north, territory markers used by indigenous tribes, and woven baskets are among them. His gold chandeliers, similar to the ones he designed for Tory Burch, hang in the sala, the main grand room. The rooms are awash in natural light, courtesy of the windows and doors that keep the house open all hours of the day. A hidden staircase leads to bedrooms adorned with shagreen.

Stanley Ruiz is an industrial designer who specializes in furniture and home accessories. He integrates craft techniques from various regions of the Philippines with contemporary design aesthetics, resulting in cleverly reinterpreted objects that display both foreign and familiar qualities. A new balikbayan, Ruiz established Estudio Ruiz Design Consultancy in 2013. He’s a consultant for Manila FAME and DTI-CITEM’s Go Lokal!, as well as a faculty member at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts.
